JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Co-director(s) of Rehabilitation and/or Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant provides service to physically impaired patient including treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication for hospital inpatients, hospital outpatients, long term care contracts, home health contracts and school contracts. Directs patient participation and selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance the functional performance. Facilitates the learning of these skills to promote functional performance and functional independence under the direct supervision of the Co-Director(s) of Rehabilitation or Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities:QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
1. Successful completion of a curriculum as a Physical Therapist Assistant approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Meets all registration requirements as determined by the State of Michigan.
2. Must have a valid Michigan Drivers license.
3. Must have the ability to work independently and organize several projects.
4. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
5. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
6. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
7. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
8. Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
9. Must keep patients safe.
