- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for multiple entities within our real estate portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
- Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgeted amounts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Optimize cash management strategies to support operational needs.
- Oversee property accounting functions, including lease accounting, rent roll analysis, and property-level financial reporting.
- Work closely with property managers and asset managers to ensure accurate recording of property-related transactions.
- Active CPA certification.
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management software.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate, investment management, or construction and development industries.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in real estate.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end processes.
