    Job SummaryBrudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI) is actively seeking a Project Engineer in the Traffic Department for immediate employment in our Columbia, Maryland office.

    The qualified candidate will work under the direction of the project manager and will be the lead designer on a project within the appropriate discipline.

    The individual shall demonstrate an ability to collaboratively work with a group (or independently) on a wide-range of small or large scale multi-discipline projects for state, county, or local jurisdictions.

    The job requires analytical thinking, adaptive and independent problem solving, creativity, innovation, and ability to utilize design engineers to complete task assignments.

    The qualified candidate shall be dependable, open-minded, focused, and attentive to details including: project schedules, budgets, and design quality.

    Responsibilities and DutiesResponsibilities include lead designer for project development including but not limited to:

    traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic, detours, signing & pavement markings, traffic modeling, and analysis for traffic improvements involving accidents, pedestrians, capacity, signal warrant studies, MOTAA, etc.

    Qualifications and SkillsBSCE in Civil Engineering or appropriate disciplineMinimum six (6) years of design experience in appropriate disciplineRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in applicable jurisdiction (or ability to apply for reciprocity)Experience working on DOT/DPW projects for state, county, city, or local municipalities.

    Proficient using Microstation and associated design software with strong computer skills.
