Are you interested in helping lead a dynamic early learning center?The Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Assistant Center Director at the Laconia Early Learning Center. There is excellent potential for growth within a multi-site organization dedicated to professional development and training.
The Laconia Early Learning Center is an award-winning program with nine classrooms serving infants through PreK. This is a great opportunity to work closely with a fun, experienced staff, with lots of opportunities to grow. We are looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated Assistant Center Director as we continue our tradition of helping early childhood educators grow in the field while providing high-quality, emergent curriculum for young children from 6 months to six years. The Assistant Center Director is responsible for maintaining a developmentally appropriate curriculum within all classrooms, overseeing classroom materials and environment to adhere to best practices, performing a variety of administrative tasks, assisting with staff development and evaluations, and continuously developing family engagement.
Duties
Program Development and Implementation
Maintains developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms.
Oversees classroom safety, supervision, materials, and environment to adhere to best practices.
Variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to, scheduling tours and other appointments, inputting data into the MTS system for billing purposes,
and compiling data and paperwork for college students placed into the program.
Provides program guidance to families, students, teaching staff, and the community in relation to the curriculum.
-Encourages family involvement in the program; welcomes the families' role in the program.
Supervision
-Assists Center Director with the execution of personnel policies and the recruitment and retention of staff.
-Assists teachers in planning and implementing weekly, monthly, and yearly classroom curriculum; provides classroom support as needed.
-Supervises and evaluates all elements of the curriculum in all of the classrooms.
-Attends planning meetings with teaching teams to support curriculum development and environmental enhancements.
-Maintains professional activities and related professional memberships.
-Mentors and supports staff.
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:An Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field and 2 years experience in Early Childhood Education in a similar position.
1.Knowledge of child development and current educational theories and practices
2.General knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, emergent curriculum, and adult learning theories.
3.Detail-orientated, ability to learn computer systems.
4.Thorough knowledge of CCLU rules.
5.Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
6.Ability to resume responsibility for the program in the absence of the Center Director.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
·All of the candidates that are offered a job with the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.
