    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    As a Nama Nama Sushi Server Fountain Worker at Canteen Food Hall Las Vegas, your accommodating personality and ability to balance the needs of a diverse clientele will facilitate a dining experience that guests will savor long after they have taken the last bite.

    ROLE EXPECTATIONS

    Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Record guest orders in a prompt and friendly manner.
    • Serve and prepare fountain items, including alcoholic beverages.
    • Perform counter service for specialty hand rolls, beer, sake & other specialty Japanese cuisine.
    • Ensure the highest possible standards of guest services and employee relations are maintained at all times.
    • Assist in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
    • Provide exceptional guest service.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of proper food storage and handling and supervise adherence.
    • Stock designated station for the next shift.
    • Operate kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner with a complete understanding of how the equipment works.
    • Serve alcoholic beverages.
    • Work a station independently and efficiently with little or no assistance during regular business volumes.
    • Prepare special requests as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Ability to run a POS terminal, handle a bank, and service guests at Sushi counter.
    • Assist in the training of new employees as requested.
    • Understand and follow written company procedures with 100% accuracy.
    • Interact with guests in an upbeat and positive manner.
    • Maintain cleanliness of Nama Nama, but not limited to counters, cash register, and beverage area, common cooking, and storage areas.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
    REQUIREMENTS
    • At least six months of food server, cashier, or fountain worker in a similar restaurant environment.
    • Working knowledge of sushi food items & preparation to sell & serve items in an effective manner.
    • Working knowledge of sake to include sales and service experience.
      • Working knowledge of equipment to include, but not limited to blenders, coffee makers and various kitchen.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Polished appearance and demeanor.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • At least 21 years of age.
    PREFERRED
    • Previous experience in a large, luxury resort setting.
    • Sake Sommelier, Certified Sake Professional or other sake certification preferred to include previous sushi and sake restaurant / food & beverage service.
    • Serve Safe Certification for Food Handling.
    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Health card, Alcohol Tam card

    • Work is performed in operational environment.
    • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
    • Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests are necessary.
    • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
    • Bending and reaching.
    • Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 10 lbs.
    • Strong eye/hand coordination.
    • Use of standard restaurant equipment.
    • Requires basic math.
    • Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs.
      • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
    • Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
    PAY RANGE
    • The pay range for this position is $17.00/hour.
