    What you'll do

    As a Software Engineer -- Web Acceleration, you'll be part of the team responsible for advancing the state of the art in web acceleration science. Your research-driven approach will help us uncover new ways to make ecommerce and related web sites snappy, resilient, and reliable on both good and bad networks. In addition to research, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to building and scaling B2B API products that interact with CDNs, paving the way for future productization.

    The day-to-day
    • Research and develop cutting-edge web acceleration techniques with a focus on moving the state of the art forward. Our focus is on discovering technologies that make the web as snappy as it can be for any type of network.
    • Bring a customer-oriented mindset. We focus on the end user and care most about their experience -- not any particular tool or language or technology.
    • Shape, design and develop tools and solutions to help us find the answers to our research problems.
    • Alongside others who share scrum mastering duties, you will help manage the workflow for the team including your own to optimize overall productivity in a fast-paced, dynamic research context where team focus can and does change frequently.
    What you'll need
    • Deep knowledge of WWW technology: HTTP/HTTP2, TCP/IP, CDN architedcdtures, OSI level 3-6
    • Experience in web page development and performance analysis: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Core Web Vitals, WebPageTest, PageSpeed, etc.
    • Experience in backend development: OpenAPI, Python, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, NodeJs.
    • Experience in data analytics using Python, Pandas, Numpy, Jupyter, Matplotlb
    • Willingness to do pure analytic work as opposed to always having some well-defined coding task
    • A mindset focused on understanding complex problems, evaluating multiple solutions, and making informed technical decisions
    • Clear and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to listen to others and share nuanced ideas and feedback
    • Someone who enjoys the team discussions, debates and research relating to making web sites faster. We think this stuff is challenging, stimulating and fun and we hope you do too.

    • Extensive experience optimizing web site performance with resource hints
    • Some scrum master or workflow master experience in the context of Agile/Scrum
    Salary range

    $141, $245,800.00 / annually
