    What you'll be doing:
    Apply subject matter expertise to evaluate and improve customer operations and processes.
    Pursue and win business for Caltrol employing a team selling approach.
    Present and demonstrate INST products and solutions to customers.

    Establish and maintain long term, mutually beneficial relationships with key customer decision makers including maintenance, operations, engineering, management, and purchasing personnel.

    Manage and strengthen supplier relationships including facilitating joint sales calls, training, and project pursuit.
    Work with inside sales and operations team(s) to meet customer expectations for "non-standard" products and/or applications.
    Provide strategic and technical guidance to sales team on key opportunities and projects.
    Coordinate with Account Managers' efforts to expand Caltrol's presence at new and existing accounts.

    Participate with industry groups, particularly life sciences, and in vendor events coordinating messaging for the INST business unit and products.


    What we're looking for:
    3+ years of experience in technical sales.
    Ability to establish and maintain value-based customer relationships.
    Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workload requirements to meet customer deadlines.
    Qualifications Desired
    Four-year engineering degree preferred or significant relatable product sales or life science industry experience.
    Demonstrated interest and aptitude for acquiring technical and mechanical knowledge and expertise.
    General process control knowledge including experience with process valves, instrumentation, and sanitary and single use flow components.
    Experience working in the biotechnology / life sciences industry.

    Experience with Caltrol's key Northern California customers and industries outside of biotechnology including power, food / beverage, water, refining, and HVAC.

    Hiring Range
    The hiring range for this position is

    $100k - $160k base annually . This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

    This job is performed primarily at home and at customer sites throughout Caltrol's Northern California region. The INST SME should reside in Northern California, preferably in the Bay Area to provide easy access to customers. When at home, employee is responsible for setting the work environment to their needs.

    Physical Demands:
    This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone.
    Employee will be expected to drive/fly to customer sites throughout Caltrol's territory. While on site, employee may need to climb or bend, and may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

    Travel:
    Approximately 70% of the job involves travel; most travel will occur within northern California. Travel will require some overnight stays.
