Lab Tech Associate l - Mount Vernon, IN, United States - Yoh

Description

We have a contract opportunity for a Lab Tech l Associate in Mt Vernon Indiana. This position is initially approved for 6 months and could be extended.

Pay Rate: $17.00/Hr.

Shift:
2nd Shift + 3rd M-F 3pm-11pm, (1 weekend night needed every other week)

Job Description:

• Prepare process and finished product samples; perform analytical testing using instrumental, wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
• Performs daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
• Maintains samples of tested product to confirm test results, if necessary.
• Documents results of testing procedures and notifies operations of required adjustments.
• Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Understands most production processes required in the production of product and may make recommendations to operators to achieve product quality.
• Performs light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
• Maintains on-going records of the results of testing procedures and inputs data into computer.
• Maintains supplies for testing and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order supplies.
• Continually compares equipment readouts with samples of standards as required to ensure that all systems are operating accurately.
• Maintains a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas.
• Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
• Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.
• Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA and company guidelines.

Education: 2 or more years or a Science Degree

Skills:

1. Demonstrates sufficient computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs.
2. Familiarity with software applications (Excel, Word)
3. Experience with lab documentation.
4. Experience with operating lab equipment (i.e., pH meter, balances, and spectrophotometer)
5. Demonstrates sufficient math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing.
6. Previous plant experience a plus
7. Ability to lift to 40 lbs. and to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
