- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of industry experience developing commercial systems in a Linux/BSD environment
- Working knowledge of PKI and TLS
- Working knowledge of cryptography
- Working knowledge of secure messaging protocols such as Signal and Matrix
- Working knowledge of the messaging layer security protocol is a plus
- Industry commercial development experience using C, C++, Go, and Java, Rust is a plus
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, CloudFront, CloudWatch, VPC, CloudFormation)
- Deep knowledge of TypeScript
- Experience in a continuous integration/deployment environment
- Experience in medium to large scale cloud-based environments
- Ability to develop maintainable, well-designed software under tight deadlines
- Experience implementing and maintaining unit, integration and system tests
- Passion for solving hard problems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Some experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and JavaScript
- Interest in privacy and the protection of personal information
- Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science fundamentals
- Experience developing with security APIs and technologies
- Ability to support services with an on call rotation
- Located in the Bay Area and be willing and able to meet either at our Woodside office or on location with local customer(s) on an "on demand" basis
Bonus points:- Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform framework
- Fluency in multiple programming languages, Rust is a plus
- Experience in IOS or Android development
- Knowledge of Clean Architecture concepts
- Experience working at a startup

This company is a Series B privacy company.
We are looking for an outstanding Senior Network Secure Messaging Development Engineer to support the development and delivery of our Sudo applications. You will be joining a high-powered experienced team who follow agile development principles, and who value well-designed software, creative thinking and thrive on solving the unsolvable. You will be working on technology spanning mobile communications (voice, messaging, email, safe browsing, password manager), and fintech/payments all underpinned by strong security and privacy principles.
We focus on building high quality apps. All code changes are peer reviewed. We value meaningful unit, integration and UI tests with high code coverage. We conduct test jams regularly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a well-established global start-up, working with global leaders in the security and privacy space located in our US Headquarters.
This position is currently remote but will expected to eventually be on-site in Woodside, CA 2 days per week.
