- The nuclear Medicine technologist provides health care services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
- He/she has the advanced skills to perform a wide variety of nuclear medicine procedures, computer processing of data and other technical tasks necessary to produce images for the interpretation by, and at the request of a licensed practitioner.
- He/she exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics while providing appropriate care essential for successful completion of procedures.
- 6 months of experience during the last year, or a minimum of 2 years full-time experience with an absence from nuclear medicine of no more than 1 year.
- 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine (not required if recent graduate from an approved technician training program).
