    Delaware Basin Overview
    Spanning West Texas through Southeast New Mexico, ConocoPhillips holds approximately 709,000 total net acres in the Delaware Basin, which includes about 699,000 unconventional net acres. ConocoPhillips started exploring and evaluating the basin's stacked pay potential in 2012 and has gained extensive technical expertise to optimize development. As of 2023, the company operates over 2,800 wells throughout the Basin.

    In 2022, the company had an average of 10 drilling rigs in operation, including one electric rig, and brought 153 new operated wells online. Net production in 2022 averaged 321 MBOED.

    Description
    If you are chosen as the Automation Technician, you will be supporting the Automation department by providing critical day-to-day troubleshooting and support for SCADA field hardware, communications, and related software. You will collaborate closely with vendors, contractors, and operations field staff on the direct support of all aspects of field SCADA equipment.

    This role is essential for Safety Sensitive operations.

    Responsibilities may include:
    • Compliance with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, NEC/NFPA requirements, and safety policies and procedures
    • Leading with a focus on safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance, and actively participating in Safety Action Plans
    • Following company energy isolation procedures (LOTO)
    • Conducting installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment
    • Applying expertise in installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of instrument, communication, and electrical equipment
    • Executing planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submitting appropriate reports
    • PLC installation, troubleshooting, and programming
    • Managing and responding to SAP notifications and processing work orders
    • Maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance activities
    • Minimizing downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative and predictive maintenance
    • Maintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports
    • Initiating Management of Change requests for proposed changes to equipment, instrumentation, and programs
    • Assisting supervisors in adapting to changing technology/budget requirements
    • Promoting collaboration throughout the area of responsibility
    Basic/Required:
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer other than the current one
    • Current/valid driver's license
    • 1+ years of relevant automation work experience
    • Willing and able to perform/comply with various physical tasks and work conditions
    Preferred:
    • Associate degree/Trade Certificate or higher in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or equivalent
    • 5+ years of experience in the automation field
    • 1+ years of experience with communication equipment
    • 1+ years of experience with various PLC systems
    • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, Strong Troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
    • Takes ownership of actions, delivers positive results, and builds effective solutions
