- Troubleshoot data entry error issues and data quality reports that may occur with regular data entry processes of front-line staff.
- Coach front line staff using HMIS, Salesforce, and other agency spreadsheets and client database tools in correcting data entry issues.
- Support staff in achieving real-time data entry, including new entries, client exits, and timely service entries, including preparing HMIS user guides and training staff.
- Run and compile monthly reports to support agency's program managers and directors with maintaining high-level data quality, integrity monitoring and evaluation and provide to Data and Analytics Manager for review.
- Run and compile data quality reports and follow up with front-line staff as appropriate.
- Identify front-line pain points and recommend process improvements to Data and Analytics Manager.
- Run standard, monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports and provide them to Data and Analytics Manager for review.
- Assist Data Analytics Manager in maintaining data visualizations reports to monitor progress towards agency and program level goals.
- Vigorously safeguard the security and confidentiality of client data, comply with all provisions of the Alliance to End Homelessness' HMIS End User Agreement, and share client data only as explicitly permitted by a client's written consent and by data sharing protocols established by the Alliance.
- Represent the organization professionally at all times.
- Maintain positive relations with clients, volunteers, co-workers, staff from other agencies, agency funders, and the public.
- Interact effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds and treat each individual with respect and dignity.
- Demonstrate team behavior and promote a team-oriented environment.
- Participate in relevant industry seminars, workshops, and networking events. Read about industry best practices to help ensure programming is in line with industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, preferred, preferably in Quantitative Field or Computer Science.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel.
- Proficiency with HMIS (or comparable data base) data input, reporting and quality improvement.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and best practices, Power BI preference.
- Ability to identify data that can be used for planning, managing, and evaluating program policies and practices.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to present to different audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to conduct self-directed work and/or function as a part of a team.
- Must have smartphone to utilize Agency communication and collaboration tools.

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The Data Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, oversight and quality of client-level data stored in the agency's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). This position will prepare a range of data reports that support program operations and KPI's, HUD data requirements, grant reporting and applications and agency performance and impact dashboards. This position regularly collaborates with staff across all program teams with the aim of instilling a culture of effective use of HMIS within the entire organization. This position will help identify opportunities to improve data collection, analysis and reporting and will assist the Data and Analytics Manager in developing and implementing improved systems.
