Job Description:
I. PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to collaborate with the physician's medical plan, and to execute the objectives and the policies of the hospital.
Assesses, plans, implements, documents, coordinates, and manages patient care according to department and hospital standards and with consideration of age-specific and population specific accommodation.
Utilizes leadership skills to effectively direct other nursing personnel and coordinate patient care as required by the Nurse Practice Act and department and hospital standards.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, physicians, and family members and other health care disciplines in achieving excellence in patient care during hospitalization and at discharge planning.
Demonstrates competency in all interventions when administering physical and psychological care to patients according to department specific skills checklist.
Demonstrates leadership skills in team interactions and enhances interpersonal relationships to create a cohesive and productive environment.

Education:
Successful completion of appropriate continuing education specific
to job requirements
B
Experience:
At least 2 year's full time experience in a level 3 NICU required for new hires
C
Other Skills:
3. STABLE and Cardiac STABLE strongly encouraged within two years
4. Certification in High Risk Neonate encouraged
5. Maintains cross-training skills to at least one other LDRP area such as well baby nursery.
