    BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community.     BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Fatherhood Outreach Worker for the Fatherhood Center Program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct initial assessment to determine resident-client's specific needs and create connections to needed program(s), services, and resources, while maintaining strong commitment to client confidentiality
    • Develop and maintain relationships with various community-based agencies, community groups, to obtain services for clients and stay abreast of new trends and practices in community outreach.
    • Work a flexible schedule, including availability to work some evenings, and weekends.
    • Meet all goals set by funder for Outreach Worker position
    • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent credentials is required.Associate degree strongly preferred. In lieu of degree, 2+ years of relevant experience with 2 years specific to work in the nonprofit realm. 2+ years demonstrated experience in related social services is preferred. Funder requirements may supersede BronxWorks requirements
    • Experience working with the targeted community or in a similar environment with the population of clients we serve; (Preferred)
    • Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communication. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
    • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
    • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
    • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
    • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
    • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
    • 'TB Test required with the first 120 days of employment'
