    Loan Generalist - St Louis, United States - Cass Information Systems

    Description

    The Loan Generalist II performs a wide variety of tasks related to the commercial loan services function. These include payment processing, loan documentation preparation for new and renewing demand and term loans, maintenance of collateral function, and associated report preparation. The Loan Generalist II performs these functions with limited supervision by the Manager of Loan Services.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Processes payments draws and related general ledger entries for loan customers.
    • Responsible for coordinating funds transfers and reconciliations with other banks on participated loans.
    • Prepare, reviews, and monitor billings to customers; monitors system for accuracy.
    • Prepares loan documents for new and renewing commercial loans according to the banks policy and government regulations. Handles transactions of medium complexity.
    • Accesses and monitors loan organization system to verify proper loan approval has been obtained and that all terms and conditions are incorporated into loan documents.
    • Inputs loan data into bank core system/loan origination system and disburses funds as directed.
    • Creates and maintains collateral files as directed in paper form and in loan origination system.
    • In accordance with dual duty protocols, proofs and verifies others work as directed.
    • Monitors for Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) expirations, prepares continuations, and ensures proper filings to maintain bank liens.
    • Prepares and files/records required documents for the release of collateral once the loan has been paid and the Bank's interest is satisfied.
    • Processes paid notes and files as directed by Loan Officer.
    • Participates in the monitoring of continuing insurance requirements and real estate tax payments.
    • Assists in the preparation of any necessary reporting for Executive Loan committee and governmental regulators.
    • Participates in the training of new and/or junior co-workers as needed.
    • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with loan documentation software such as LaserPro.
    • Knowledge of loan origination system such as nCino or equivalent.
    • Ability to work with limited supervision.

    MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:

    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
    • 3+ years of loan service experience.
