We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Daktronics Inc.

Responsibilities:

• Champion our safety culture and collaborate with Departments/Factories to enhance safety practices.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Safety in all aspects of the job.
• Mentor, lead, and train employees on safety procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Support subcontracted safety professionals working with Daktronics.
• Travel for facility inspections, training, and incident investigations as needed.
• Develop and implement Environmental Management System to reduce impact on the organization.
• Lead projects to minimize environmental impact within the company.
• Track waste production trends and provide solutions for reduction.
• Conduct environmental process audits to lessen overall impact.
• Collaborate with experts to maintain air and waste permitting to reduce impact.
• Support the development of employees in Environmental, Health, and Safety culture.
• Lead audits to enhance attendees' knowledge of safety requirements and hazard identification.
• Mentor leadership and engineering to integrate safety into daily processes.
• Provide training and direction to Safety Committee members.
• Support factory leadership in areas such as safety, driving, and industrial hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other standards.
• Manage and coordinate EHS projects assigned by factory leadership.
• Conduct EHS training for employees on relevant topics.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through seminars and trainings.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies/Sciences or Occupational Safety & Health.
• Experience in Environmental and Safety/Compliance preferred.
• Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
• Training experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and self-motivation required.

Physical Requirements:

• Work in an environment with paint, solvent, and solder smells.
• Lift up to 35 lbs. frequently and 45 lbs. occasionally to frequently.
• Work from heights and reach in all directions.
• Maintain hand/eye coordination, identify colors, and read fine print.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Travel by air and ground may be required.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
