    Job Summary:
    Provides process engineering oversight to develop a safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly Blue Ammonia facility.

    Work should be completed independently utilizing internal and external resources to provide solutions meeting stakeholder needs, consistent with acceptable engineering and general design practices.

    Responsible for process design of new operating site, while duplicating the performance of the reference plant in Donaldsonville and mechanical design to the extent feasible.

    Process engineering and operational knowledge combined with excellent communications with Operations, Project Engineering, and Management will be key to success in this role.


    Job Description:


    Major ResponsibilitiesProject DevelopmentPrepare and review documents including PFDs, P&IDs, scopes of work, and equipment specifications for project execution to ensure they are suitable for routine operationsReview engineering contractor equipment/piping sizing and calculations to ensure systems integrate successfully and function properly in operationReview detailed process data on critical equipment to ensure suitability to meet new facility goalsPersonally review construction documentation prepared by outside engineering firms and vendors for compliance with project specifications, constructability, and operability.

    Maintain open and ongoing communication with supervision and Engineering on status and progress of work on assigned projects.
    Continuously control changes to the original design and obtain management approval for any deviations.

    Provide primary data and support to environmental permitting activitiesProvide detailed engineering support and monitor/expedite assigned jobs through the project controls process to ensure timely executionMaintain a professional working relationship with all departmentsOperationsWork with Operations to develop procedures, pre-commissioning plants, and safely startup the facility.

    Provide process technical expertise, troubleshooting, data analysis, and technical supportComplete performance evaluations and generate recommendations to resolve identified problems found in the design of process equipment including compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, and reactorsEvaluate and participate in the development of potential capital improvement projects to increase production capacity, improve energy efficiency, and enhance EHS performanceEnvironmental Health and SafetyParticipate in design reviews, HAZOPs, LOPAs, model reviews, and other analysis with the engineering firms in US, Germany, and IndiaParticipate in EHS risk assessment for the projectSupport the corporate EHS Policy and Programs by incorporating the applicable requirements into designs and continually evaluate ways to improve site safetyActively practice environmental, health, and safety activities associated with individualized job functionsSupervisory Relationships:

    Incumbent Attributes:

    Education: BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited universityYears of experience: 5+ years in some combination of operations or engineering at CF, a comparable chemical manufacturing company or an appropriate engineering and technology services provider.3 or more years of experience with capital project development and/or execution preferredAmmonia process engineering experience required, experience with TKIS technology preferredAbility and willingness to collect field data, enter process equipment for inspections, and otherwise work in an operating chemical facility environmentAbility and willingness to work alternative shifts/schedules to support 24 hour/7 days per week operations during process unit erection, commissioning, startups, shutdowns, upsets, equipment inspections, catalyst reductions, and turnarounds.

    Willingness to relocate nearby the project siteMust be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
