    By joining our Department of Highways/District 7 as a Accounting Clerk II in Fayette County, you'll have theopportunity to oversee and perform technical accounting duties.

    Holders of the Accounting Clerk II position will complete tasks such as:
  • Perform accounts payable duties, and maintain accounting reports.
  • Generate delivery orders to requests goods and services from vendors.
  • Check invoices, review pay documents, and approve documents utilizing eMars.
  • Maintain filing system for all accounts, and a maintain inventory of supplies.
    • Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
  • Learn to use eMARS software.
  • Learn the purchasing laws and procedures of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
  • Preparing and approving payment of district facilities utility bills, vendor payments and delivery orders.
  • Learn the ProCard payment process.
    • Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Knowledge of EXCEL Spreadsheets.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Experience using eMars.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience.
    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Training in accounting, business administration, business education, office administration, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
