    Description
    The Maritime Operations Synchronizer shall perform tasks such as:


    • Serve as the primary J35 maritime synchronizer and advisor to the J35 Maritime Planner
    Skilled in coordinating and synchronizing operations in the maritime environment to produce effects which accomplish the commander's intent
    Makes recommendations and advises on organization-wide and cross-component synchronization, optimization, and continuity of maritime operations and units
    Provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for maritime current and future operations in the SOCSOUTH AO.

    • Liaise with maritime entities such as: NAVSOUTH, USCG Pac Area, USCG Lant Area, MARFORSOUTH, Geographical Combatant Commands (GCCs), Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), USSOUTHCOM (J3, J2, components, subordinate staffs), SOCSOUTH (J5, J3, J2), and the interagency.
    • Facilitate synchronization of maritime OAIs to achieve effects and the development and accomplishment of strategic, operational, and tactical-level plans (CONOPs).
    • Manage joint and cross-component planning groups, VTCs, and meetings; provides maritime specific recommended courses of action to the J3 and SOCSOUTH Commander.
    • Advise and assist all maritime operational aspects of Global Competition (GC), Counter Drug (CD), Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC), planning and coordination to include Counter Terrorism (CT), Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), Information Related Capabilities (IRCs) and Irregular Warfare (IW) in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility (AOR).
    • Integrate as a maritime subject matter expert (SME) across all directorates to coordinate and synchronize GC maritime operations and OAIs in order to achieve and assess desired GC effects and other exords as required by the Command Team, J3, and J35.
    • Aid in the development of long-term maritime plans, implementing and finalizing SOF and Conventional maritime support to future operations.
    • Maintain a high level of situational awareness for all maritime activities occurring within the SOCSOUTH Operational Division's spheres of influence.
    • Serve as the Division's liaison to other operations division directorates (i.e., regional desks, information operations, etc) and other SOCSOUTH staff for maritime operations in the USSOUTHCOM AOR
    Requirements


    • Must have served as a commissioned US Navy or US Coast Guard Officer with 10 years of prior military experience.
    • Served a minimum of 2 years in an operational or strategic level headquarters (O-6 or higher) demonstrating a firm understanding of the assignment, allocation, and apportionment processes of maritime conventional and SOF force
    • Shall possess and maintain a current TS/SCI clearance.
