    Settlement Coordinator Lead Job Description

    Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Training and developing all new Settlement Coordinators (SC).
    • Conduct biweekly 1:1's with their team.
    • Review and approve all submitted yield packets prior to submitting to the finance team for processing.
    • Ensuring that all balances are accurately confirmed for all injury related medical treatment.
    • Ensuring that all reductions are accurately confirmed and documented with all providers.
    • Ensure accurate and timely payment to all agencies.
    • As needed, arrange and attend settlement appointments with clients.
    • Provide support to the SC team with closing files.
    • Create and monitor the SC teams' metrics and KPIs for the month, quarter, and year.
    • Audit the SC files on a biweekly basis to ensure efficient progress is being made.
    • Handle all SC responsibilities in the absence of a SC teammate.
    • Analyze team production and create strategies to improve the processes.
    • Prepare and contribute to the SC teams' reviews.
    • Audit and update the SC policy and procedure manual on a quarterly basis.
    • Partners with department leadership to strategize about challenges within the team.

    Education and Experience:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a bachelor's degree in business or accounting is preferred.
    • At least two (2) years of experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably in a personal injury law firm, insurance billing, accounts payable and receivable, or as an insurance adjuster.
    • Working knowledge of multiple spreadsheets.
    • Data reporting.
    • Proficiency with Office365.
    • Possesses strong math skills.
    • Capable of multitasking.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Adept at paying attention to detail.
    • Notary certification is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership needs, and planning requirements of the organization preferred.
