    Job Description

    American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-volume Level III trauma center in Yakima, WA, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience and a comprehensive certification package including TNCC.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at a 226-bed Level III trauma center, the busiest ED in the state, seeing 200–250 patients per day
    Patient population spans neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke (TNK administration), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder, and multi-system trauma
    Patient ratios are 1:3–5 based on acuity; the ED is organized into zones, including a 13-bed fast track "green zone"
    Shift options include days (7a–7p, 9a–9p), mids (10a–10p through 2p–2a), evenings (3p–3a), and nights (7p–7a) on 12-hour shifts
    36 hours per week
    Every other weekend rotation required; back-to-back weekends possible on rare occasions — flexibility is expected
    No floating or on-call requirements


    EMR:
    Epic (strongly preferred)

    Scrub color:
    any solid color, no logos
    Pediatric emergency medicine experience (medical and trauma) is highly preferred
    Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
    Stabilize and transfer responsibilities include neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric patients
    First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
    Candidates will undergo clinical interviewing through SimpliFi

    Requirements
    Active WA state or compact RN license required
    Minimum 3 years of ED experience in a large-volume, high-acuity setting

    Required certifications:
    BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS, and TNCC
    Proficiency in barcode scanning medication administration, medication drip management, and blood product administration
    Triage experience required; must pass the facility's Triage Test before being permitted to triage independently
    Ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, perform splinting, and manage BiPAP/ventilators
    Strong understanding of ESI (Emergency Severity Index)
    At least one supervisor-level reference (charge nurse, manager, or director) required for consideration; a second reference will be required prior to start
