    Description of Job This position independently performs a range of tasks related to maintaining building interiors and furnishings in Capitol Complex managed facilities.

    Assignments may include keeping exterior walkways clear of debris and snow. The anticipated shift for this position will be 4:00pm - 12:30amA summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Custodian/Housekeeping Services
    • Office and common area cleaning including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, multi surface cleaning, brass cleaning and polishing, hard surface floor cleaning and recycling.
    Restrooms cleaning including trash removal, fixtures, stocking supplies, sweeping and mopping. Emergency response and other duties as assigned
    • Position may be called upon for additional duties that may include snow removal, emergency response and assistance (such as a flooded floor), inventory counts, meetings, and assisting the trades with various projects.

    TXMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    *Experience:At least six (6) months of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position At least six months of custodial experience Conditions of Employment:A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

    Need to be able to be in a stationary position for at least 8 hours/dayMay need to be available for other shifts or emergencies.


    Appeal Rights:

    An applicant who has been removed from an employment list or removed from consideration during the selection process may request a review by the State Personnel Director.

    As an applicant directly affected by the results of the selection or comparative analysis process, you may file a written appeal with the State Personnel Director.

    Review of the completed, signed and submitted appeal will be timely on the basis of written material submitted by you, using the official appeal form signed by you or your representative.

    This form must be completed and delivered to the State Personnel Board by email at within ten (10) calendar days from your receipt of notice or acknowledgement of the Department's action.
