    • Responsibilities

    The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in providing safe patient care by applying the nursing process effectively. They deliver direct patient care, oversee patient/family education, and supervise other nursing staff in a Telemetry setting. Moreover, the Registered Nurse is specifically responsible for patient care in the Emergency Department, ensuring effective communication with physicians and adherence to professional nursing standards. They must stay informed on regulatory guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.

    • Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

    1. Current and valid state RN License.
    2. Current BLS certificate and maintain it.
    3. Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and keep it current.
    4. Current PALS certificate or ENPC within 30 days of hire.
    5. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire.
    6. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital; E.R. experience is preferred.
    7. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred.
    8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    Facility Specific Requirements

    • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN certification within 12 months of hire.
    • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) completion within 12 months of hire.
