    Job Title: Asset Drayage Terminal Manager

    Location: Savannah, GA

     Reports To: Regional Operations Director

    Job Summary

    The Terminal Manager will lead and help build our Savannah drayage operation, with primary responsibility for overseeing terminal operations and developing a high-performing Owner-Operator fleet.

    This is a hands-on leadership role for someone familiar with the Port of Savannah, drayage, and local Owner-Operator networks.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operational Leadership: 
    • Oversee and manage day-to-day terminal operations to ensure efficient pickup and delivery of containers. 
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to support growth, reliability, customer service and profitability. 
    • Recruiting:  
    • Recruit and manage an initial fleet of approximately 15–20 Owner-Operators, with the opportunity to scale significantly beyond that
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local Owner-Operators and driver networks.
    • Effectively manage the asset fleet and drayage operations to ensure optimal utilization and service performance
    • Team & Culture Development:
    • Hire, train, and manage dispatchers and support staff as needed.
    • Staff the terminal appropriately to support current and projected volume.
    • Foster a dynamic, collaborative, and respectful work environment.
    • Build a team culture centered on accountability, service, and operational excellence.
    • Safety and Compliance: Work with our Safety Manager to ensure full compliance with FMCSA/DOT regulations and port requirements.
    • Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve key operational metrics including on-time performance and turns per day.  Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
    • Client Relations: Build and maintain relationships with customers. Provide white glove customer service.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 
    • 5+ years of experience in drayage, port operations, terminal management, or transportation operations.
    • Strong familiarity with the Port of Savannah and local drayage environment.
    • Demonstrated experience managing or building Owner-Operator fleets.
    • Experience interacting directly with customers and managing service expectations.
    • Skills:
    • Ability to build and lead a dynamic, collaborative team.
    • Strong network within the Savannah drayage and Owner-Operator community preferred.
    • Deep understanding of logistics, chassis management, and port procedures.
    • Strong operational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute within a structured platform.
    • Proficiency with TMS systems and standard business software.
