    Job Description

    Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

    A Full-Time Physical Therapist position is available focused on school-based therapy in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. This role involves supporting students across multiple schools within Durham Public Schools, primarily located in Central and North-Central Durham. The contract extends through June 10, 2026, with immediate availability preferred.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide school-based physical therapy services to a caseload of approximately 30-40 students ranging in age.
    • Deliver therapy interventions aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
    • Manage and prioritize visits across 5 to 9 schools, with some schools requiring 1-2 visits monthly.
    • Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes.
    • Maintain documentation and comply with district guidelines and schedules (elementary: 7:45 am2:15 pm; middle: 8:30 am3:15 pm; high school: 9:15 am4:15 pm).

    Qualifications:

    • Active Physical Therapy licensure is mandatory.
    • Previous experience in a school setting as a Physical Therapist is required.
    • Ability to adapt to changing caseload needs within the district.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple school assignments.

    Location:

    • On-site position within Durham Public Schools located in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, primarily in Central and North-Central Durham.

    Additional Information:

    • Contract role through June 10, 2026.
    • Full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
