    Description

    The Network Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organizations global network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, security, and scalability. This role involves monitoring and optimizing network systems, troubleshooting network issues, and providing technical support to end users. This team member will work closely with other members of the IT team and work side by side with the Senior Network Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently & effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Install, support and maintain hardware infrastructure according to industry best practices, including routers, switches, wifi controllers, and firewalls.
    • Provide support and troubleshooting for Voice/VOIP systems.
    • Regularly work with third party Internet Service Providers and Other Vendors
    • Perform network security assessments regularly.
    • Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
    • Provide network and host-based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration.
    • Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
    • Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices.
    • Provide network documentation.
    • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
    • Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
    • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
    • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, software updates, and patches, to ensure network reliability and security.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills through training and professional development.
    • Provide Level 1 & 2 help desk support for end users in all areas of technology.
    • Document and test disaster recovery plans related to network operations.

    Job Requirements:

    • B.A. or B.S. in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of expertise in administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
    • Excellent at problem solving and consulting.
    • At least an intermediate understanding of firewall configuration and maintenance, experience with Palo Alto & Cisco ASA required.
    • Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and supporting.
    • Networking equipment; Cisco Preferred.
    • Wireless (WiFi) equipment; Extreme Networks & Cisco Meraki
    • Computers, Servers, and peripherals
    • Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies.
    • Understand and diagram existing networks
    • Diagram, explain and plan for future upgrades
    • Experience deploying and/or maintaining an enterprise campus wifi network
    • Intermediate to expert with 802.1q VLANs and working within industry best practices.
    • Experience maintaining an enterprise level infrastructure.
    • Intermediate to expert with VoIP equipment and operation.
    • Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN and firewall appliances.
    • Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, stateful inspection firewalls, encryption, authentication and authorization technology.
    • Hands-­-on technical experience working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, WebVPN, AnyConnect, DMVPN, etc.).
    • Willingness to mentor more junior staff members and interns.
    • Experience in a fast-­-paced support environment in a campus networks as a member of a 24x7x365 network and/or security operations team.
    • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources.
    • Strong oral, written, communications, and presentation skills.

    Compensation

    • From $33 per hour
    • Quarterly profit sharing

    Work Location

    • Onsite Monday through Friday
