JOB TITLE: Office Aide & Desk Attendants CLASS: 51 – Seasonal
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
LOCATION: Multiple (Freeman Lake Park, American Legion Park, Pritchard Community Center)
POSITION OVERVIEW
Office Aides and Desk Attendants provide front-facing customer service and administrative support at City of Elizabethtown Parks & Recreation facilities. This position is available at multiple locations, including American Legion Park, Freeman Lake Park, and Pritchard Community Center.
Employees hired for this role will be assigned to one primary facility for the season. While applicants may indicate a preferred work location during the hiring process, final placement will be determined by the Parks & Recreation Department based on operational needs.
This position focuses on customer service, front desk operations, and basic office tasks. It is ideal for individuals who are organized, professional in appearance, and comfortable working in a public-facing role.
Examples of Duties
- Greet patrons and serve as the primary point of contact at the facility
- Answer phones and respond to general inquiries
- Process facility reservations, equipment rentals, and other sales depending on the assigned location
- Handle payments and operate a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and office area
- Provide accurate information regarding programs, policies, and facility use
- Communicate with supervisors and facility staff regarding scheduling, issues, or customer concerns
- Perform other administrative or support duties as assigned
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Customer service experience is required
- Experience handling money and using a POS system is required
- Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance and practice good hygiene
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-first mindset and ability to interact professionally with the public
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time
- Basic computer skills and comfort using office software and systems
Additional Information
- This is a seasonal position with the Parks & Recreation Department
- Work schedules vary by facility and may include evenings and weekends
- Training will be provided on facility-specific systems and procedures
