- Manage a vigorous load of claims involving high-net-worth homeowner lines.
- Analyze coverage and manage first-party property losses, including litigated and non-litigated claims.
- Effectively interact with insureds, brokers, insured's personal and/or legal representatives, defense counsel, and other parties as required.
- Direct independent field adjusters or use available technology to scope losses, estimate damages, investigate subrogation opportunities, and assist our clients as their individual and unique needs dictate.
- Draft and issue reservation of rights and denial letters; retain and direct counsel; evaluate exposure and establish reserves; manage emergency response and repair vendors; manage various experts, including engineers, accountants, and rebuilding consultants; report internally and externally as required; and negotiate settlements.
- Represent the Company in resolving complex claims and participate in legal proceedings, including mediations.
- Participate in underwriting decision-making, including renewal risk assessment and communication with program agents.
- Work with other company areas, including underwriting, finance and accounting, actuarial, sales and marketing, risk management, operations, and technology on projects as requested.
- Prepare claim summaries and other reports as necessary for management.
- Present severity claims to senior management in large loss meetings.
- Comply with internal and external reporting.
- Travel, including catastrophe travel to large-scale catastrophic events.
- A Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of claims adjusting experience required.
- Experience in handling high-net-worth clients is preferred.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating effectively through multiple channels.
- Effective ability to cultivate strong business relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
- Basic ability to navigate computers and applications (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs upon request.
