    Description
    • Registers all patients to the hospital in accordance withthe procedures.
    • Verifies all outpatientsurgeries, admissions, and diagnostic testing have properauthorization.
    • Accurately registers arrivingpatients who have been referred by a physician for treatment and ordiagnostic testing.
    • Accurately Pre-Registersand Registers patients for services and accurately gathers allnecessary demographic information including insurance and billinginformation.
    • Obtains all required signeddocuments from patients (i. e. Consent for treatment, ImportantMessage from Medicare, Important Message from Tricare, HIPAANotification, etc.)
    • Demonstrates accurate useof insurance verification tools (i. e. Passport Next Bar/OneSource,NM Medicaid portal, Presbyterian Portal, Availity web portal,etc.)
    • Schedules patient for all servicesrequired in centralized scheduling with use of proper phoneetiquette and customer service.
    • Accuratelycomplete Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire asrequired.
    • Accepts patients in order of arrivalwith the exception of emergency, scheduled appointments or statcases which have priority.
    • Verifies insurancebenefits, notifies patient of their financial responsibility attime of service.
    • Collects payments on patientaccounts at time of service and on other outstanding patientaccounts.
    • Facilitate appointments withMedicaid Eligibility Workers and/or Financial Counselors, ifnecessary.
    • Assists patients with insurance,billing and other inquiries they might have pertaining to theirhospital account
    Requirements
