    Inova Schar Heart & Vascular is seeking a board-certified/eligible vascular surgeon to join our team of 10 surgeons in a high-volume, growing multi-disciplinary practice serving the Northern Virginia region.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Schedule: Perform clinic and operating room duties, as well as hospital consults.
    • Call Requirement:
      • Weekend call (primary for the system, approximately one in seven weekends)
      • Weekday call (regional, approximately one day per week)
    • Patient Volume:
      • Clinic - Conduct weekly outpatient clinics with established referral patterns, but room for expansion.
      • Surgical - Opportunity to grow a robust practice based on interest and desire.
    • Support Team:
      • Vascular group - Collaborative team of ten attending physicians.
      • Outpatient APP staff in clinics.
      • Inpatient PA staff in hospital.
      • Vascular surgery fellows as integrated with the Military Fellowship.
      • Surgical residents on a dedicated vascular team.
      • Administrative structure in place.
      • Vascular lab system - Multiple labs with growing volumes.
      • Interventional Radiology - Collaboration to optimize patient care.
      • Hybrid room technology.
    • Procedural Experience:
      • Aortic pathology diagnosis and treatment.
      • All other facets of vascular therapy:
        • Carotid disease.
        • Lower extremity conditions.
        • Venous disease - Superficial and deep.
        • Dialysis access.
      • Wound Centers and HBO program.

    Requirements

    • Education: MD or DO degree.
    • Experience: Completed ACGME residency training in General Surgery and subsequent fellowship with ABS board certification in Vascular Surgery or board eligible.
    • Certification/Licensure: Current Virginia medical license and DEA, Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at all Inova Hospitals.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience: Previous experience within a Tertiary care center with cardiac surgery partnership.
