    Description


    A dynamic and rapidly growing insurance company in Stamford, CT is seeking a talented Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their dedicated team.

    You will be working on underwriting for their workers comp, general liability, property and commercial auto lines.

    Responsibilities:
    Evaluate and analyze commercial insurance applications for risks, ensuring adherence to company underwriting guidelines.
    Assess and determine the acceptability of risks based on factors such as financial stability, industry trends, and loss experience.
    Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and negotiate terms and conditions.
    Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide accurate and timely underwriting decisions.
    Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to make informed underwriting decisions.
    Work closely with other departments, including claims and marketing, to foster effective communication and collaboration.
    Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with company policies
    and procedures.
    Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from clients, brokers, and internal team members.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in commercial lines underwriting.
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
    Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
    Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
    Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
    Familiarity with industry regulations and market trends.
    Proficient in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Location and Work Arrangement:


    This position is based in their Stamford, CT office and offers a hybrid work arrangement (2 days in, 3 days remote).
