    Job Purpose:

    The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

    Oversees and maintains the Network Operations security practice and aligns closely with the CBI Security (Cyber and Physical Security) organization to set strategy, goals and objectives for the department's security needs. The Network Operations security practice will develop and implement policies, standards and guidelines and provide services to mitigate network and cyber risks to Cincinnati Bell and Hawaiian Telcom. The Network Security Architect will work closely with the network engineering, technology and operations teams within Network Operations to identify and mitigate risks, respond to security incidents, and mature the security practices within the organization.

    Essential Functions:

    • Security Management - Establishment, facilitation, or operation of cyber and network security processes to protect an organization's networks, assets, information, and services.
    • Innovative Solutions - Designs creative solutions that use technologies and processes to mitigate network and cyber risks to Cincinnati Bell and Hawaiian Telcom systems, electronic products, facilities, and networks.
    • Risk Management - Identifies and mitigates potential cyber and network security risks
    • Compliance Management - Assess and facilitate the compliance of the organization with external regulatory requirements that relate to security. Active participation with CBI Security, and external consortia and agencies
    • Security Implementation and Operations - Operationalize documented solutions and deliver day-to-day security operations and support. Participates in after-incident lessons-learned meetings to give input on recommendations for additional tools or other mitigations for future incidents
    • Policies and standards - Develop and deliver commercially acceptable policies and standards that mitigate physical and cyber risks to Cincinnati Bell and Hawaiian Telcom systems, electronic products, facilities, and networks. Monitors emerging technology trends and the security risks associated with those technologies. Makes recommendations for future-state improvements in tools, technology, process, automation and orchestration enhancements and improvements.
    • People Management - Indirect management of employees, teams, and stakeholders. Sets the direction of cross-functional teams and stakeholders and mentors department staff
    • Financials - Track and measure costs to ensure appropriate investment and efficient and effective solutions to drive business value

    Education:

    Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

    Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:

    • One or more of the following security certifications required: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), ISACA certifications including CRISC, CISM, CISA, or CGEIT. Series 99 certification a plus

    Relevant Work Experience:

    • 8 to 10 years in related field
    • 10 years telecommunications or information technology experience including 5 plus years security and compliance

    Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and industry standards for cybersecurity and network security

    • Strong technical domain knowledge (security and compliance)
    • Proven strong understanding of the current vulnerabilities, response and mitigation strategies used in cybersecurity
    • Proven extensive experience with system hardening processes, tools, guidelines and benchmarks
    • Strong functional knowledge of network protocols for routing and access, including but not limited to: TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP, Qos/CoS, Traffic Engineering, and layer 2 protocols (Spanning Tree, RPVST+/VSTP, LACP, and 802.1q).
    • Deep understanding of security concepts and putting those concepts into practice in a service provider environment. Firewall, IDS, DDoS, etc.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position does not have employee direct reports but does serve as a lead role for others doing similar work

    Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000.
