Police Records Technician - Marietta

Job summary
This unit operates 24 hours a day. This position requires completion of a data entry and proofreading skills testing. Receives, reviews prepares processes department documents such as police incident reports accident reports citations warrants impound records etc verifies completes codes required information enters information into department databases updates database information creates new files purges old data as appropriate maintains copies in department files. Utilizes Georgia Crime Information Center terminals conducts background criminal history checks enters information regarding tags driver's licenses warrants missing persons stolen property obtains retrieves relays information to police officers detectives other law enforcement or other staff as requested.Processes requests for records and reports receives requests from courts law enforcement personnel agencies victims public retrieves police incident reports determines confidentiality of requested document report verifies identities assures authority individuals receive confidential information establishes quantity requester authorized receive forwards mails accordingly ensures reports provided timely manner Ensures all activities compliance applicable codes laws rules regulations standards policies procedures initiates actions correct deviations violations Prepares various forms correspondence or documentation receives forms correspondence policies manuals reference materials retains appropriate Communicates supervisor County departments employees public attorneys outside agencies individuals coordinate work activities review status exchange resolve problems Operates personal computer enter retrieve review modify utilizing word processing spreadsheet database presentation Internet email equipment complete essential functions Performs tasks sorting collating distributing shredding various reports documents Performs related duties assigned Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma GED six months experience clerical general office work related field Licenses Certifications Must possess obtain within hire maintain certifications GCIC Basic Operator NCIC Basic Operator Physical Abilities Tasks exert light physical effort sedentary light work involve lifting carrying pushing pulling objects materials light weight sensory Requirements Some tasks perceive discriminate colors sounds visual cues signals communicate orally Environmental Factors Essential functions regularly performed exposure adverse environmental conditions EEO Statement Cobb County equal opportunity employer Cobb County Government does not discriminate race color national origin sex religion age disability employment services Visit Employee Benefits page learn more
