Overview General Maintenance Worker (SWFLANT Bowhead seeks an energetic person to join our family in support our Senior Boat Engineers, applicant will be providing assistance while conducting preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and shipyard support repairs to the Marine Vessels assigned to this contract
Applicant needs to have a basic mechanical aptitude, be willing to learn complex mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
Responsibilities

• Assist in diesel engine repairs
• Assist with electrical wiring
• Learn basic electronics
• Assist with plumbing
• Minor system troubleshooting Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• No experience necessary
• Technical certifications are a plus but not required
• Ability to utilize MS Word, and Outlook email
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 35 to 40 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level
US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
