- Coordinate annual and as-needed amendments and extensions to assigned contracts, including those associated with the New England Pathogen Genomics Center of Excellence (NE PGCoE) and with medical therapeutics.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for contractual and fiscal questions related to assigned contracts. Review and approve partner and subcontractor invoices, ensuring that program spending aligns with work plan deliverables and funder priorities.
- Solicit updates from partners and compile periodic (quarterly and/or annual) reports summarizing progress on NE PGCoE and other assigned programs.
- Ensure that assigned program follow approved program monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Assist in various program management activities, including deliverables tracking and updates, and coordination of supplemental and continuing applications for program support.
- Confer with management staff in order to provide information concerning program implementation, and to make recommendations for changes in procedures, guidelines, etc. for accomplishing program objectives.
- Interface with laboratory, epidemiology, and legal staff to maintain and update cross-institutional agreements associated with the NE PGCoE and other assigned programs.
- Coordinate with BIDLS fiscal, contracts and procurement, and programmatic division staff as needed.
- Develop and implement standards to be used in program monitoring and/or evaluation.
- Support and/or implement other contracts under the Office of the Medical Director as assigned.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks an experienced professional to serve as our new Pathogen Genomics and Medical Contract Coordinator, who will oversee contracts associated with the CDC-funded New England Pathogen Genomics Center of Excellence (NE PGCoE), as well as similar contracts housed under the Office of the Medical Director (e.g., programs related to COVID-19 therapeutics).
The Pathogen Genomics and Medical Contract Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between the Bureau of Infectious Diseases and Laboratory Sciences (BIDLS) and academic, clinical, and industry partners on questions related to annual contracts, invoicing, and administrative obligations to the CDC.
This role will also collaborate with staff in BIDLS on program management and evaluation, including ensuring that program partners adhere to program deliverables, report progress to funders, and comply with program evaluation milestones.

The DPH Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences (BIDLS), predominantly located in Jamaica Plain, provides public health response to infectious disease.
Infectious disease response services address concerns of the general public as well as those disproportionately affected by infectious disease through a variety of risk factors.
Disease reporting review and follow-up with clinical providers and local boards of health is a central function of the bureau.
Surveillance activity is complemented by an extensive contracted service system.These services are funded through state and federal resources and include prevention education, community outreach screening for infectious disease, immunization services, health service navigation, medical case management, insurance enrollment, housing assistance, and referral and linkage to infectious disease treatment.
The SPHL provides scientific expertise and capacity to identify infectious agents, chemical agents, and other toxins that cause human disease.
The SPHL is an active partner in joint activities with other bureaus/agencies such as environmental health, food and drug, agriculture, disease prevention and health promotion programs, and public safety.
The SPHL is a reference laboratory of the national Laboratory Response Network (LRN) and is a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Select Agent laboratory. SPHL staff work closely with laboratory and disease prevention programs at the CDC, and partners with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).About the Department of Public Health:

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I.
A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.
II.A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.
III.A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.
NOTE:
No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience.
