    BME is part of the Astra Service Partners network and our teams form the largest technical network in the industry.

    We are looking for a talented Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives for this long-standing mechanical, plumbing and electrical company, in the OH/KY/IN/TN markets.

    In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and overseeing health and safety protocols for the company, and ensuring that staff members are properly informed regarding emergency preparedness, use of protective equipment, and accident protocol.

    Safety Manager Overview:
    Develops and implements occupational health and safety programs meant to ensure the wellbeing of employees or visitors. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA.

    Documents and investigates accidents or injuries, provides records or evidence as required during lawsuits or legal proceedings, and implements corrective measures meant to reduce future risk.

    Develops, delivers, and tracks participation in health and safety related training.

    The Safety Manager is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.

    Safety Manager Responsibilities

    Develop/Maintain Safety Manual and trainings for employees for policies, regulations, and procedures. Actively participate in developing the safety aspects of the company.

    Responsible for ensuring OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 trainings are completed as required

    Create and track Safety Scorecard

    Maintain all safety documentation, including Audit information.

    Assist in Root Cause Analysis and Job Safety Analysis development / reviews

    Assist on managing injury /illness case files for incidents

    Generate safety reports / logs and summit to appropriate personnel

    Create and lead Safety Committee

    Perform observations on service /install work in progress and identify opportunities for improving safety

    Participate on job specific incident investigations

    Ensure corrective actions are identified and tracked to complete

    Ensure strong communication with appropriate team members

    Interact with site Safety , Health and Environmental to ensure projects are meeting site expectations when applicable

    Analyze Incident Reports

    Work with project teams to identify corrective actions needed , and track follow -up to completion .

    Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to supervisor , safety or HR

    Ensure all employees have PPE to start work and inspected

    Tracking employee on safety trainings and toolbox talks

    Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    3+ years of experience as a safety manager preferred.

    5+ years of field experience within the HVAC or Electric industries preferred

    Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation.

    Solid knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices in the workplace.

    Familiarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures.

    Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.

    Working knowledge of safety management software, such as iAuditor, SiteDocs, and Safesite highly preferred

    Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

    Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.

    Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, along with having a high level of attentionto detail.

    Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass drug screen
