- Perform microscopic examination of cellular samples, fluid specimens, and fine needle aspirations to detect abnormalities or signs of disease.
- Analyze and interpret cellular morphology, identifying abnormal cells or indicators of cancerous or pre-cancerous conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of findings, documenting results in laboratory information systems and preparing detailed reports for pathologists.
- Adhere to established protocols and quality control standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to review challenging cases and provide additional insights or recommendations.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advances in cytology techniques and technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a Cytotechnologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including microscopes and imaging systems.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to accurately interpret complex cellular samples.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and healthcare providers.
- Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
