    Default job background
    Description
    Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Other duties may be assigned Apply engineering principles of fluid and solid mechanics, thermodynamics, mass transfer, kinetics, and control systems to formulate accurate and efficient experiments, interpret their results, and propose or implement effective solutions Lead development of gas flow & pressure metrology, including transiently accurate flow measurement and validation, and be able to guide others in experimental setup to achieve evolving goals Demonstrate proficiency in rapidly applying first principles to simplify complex problems, creating mathematical first principles models to capture underlying phenomena in a computationally efficient manner, and exercising those models to make sound engineering decisions for early phase R&D prior to more time consuming multidimensional modeling.
Create complex and multidimensional models using industry-standard simulation packages as a follow-on to refine final stages of design; strong experimental data matching and interpretation abilities are required Lead development & productization efforts of key flow control mechanical components such as solenoid and piezoelectric valves, successfully navigating existing intellectual property and developing manufacturable and cost-effective designs Develop and refine existing and/or new gas delivery components; conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs Develop models independently from concept to completion using sustainable practices; develop and troubleshoot complex simulations and the physical systems they represent and guide peers on usage and interpretation of results Ensure that device design, component selection, manufacturability and test methods meet product needs, specifications, and industry standards.

Document designs with drawings, specifications, and material lists Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved methods of the company and industry best practices Manage complex projects independently, with guidance as needed and minimal supervision Oversee the work of others within the group and maintain schedule of deliverables Coordinate with counterparts in other departments as needed, keeping engineering manager informed Perform other duties as assigned by manager such as specifications, material requisitions, checking of calculations and engineering drawingsDesired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of mechanical and chemical engineering principles Advanced knowledge of design process, ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, practices, and procedures Technical expertise in the development and commercialization of systems used in semiconductor flow delivery Intermediate to advanced coding skills; Matlab/Simulink, LabVIEW, C/C++, VBA preferred Ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external customers Ability to independently drive projects and articulate ideas, provide team leadership, and mentor junior engineers Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDesired Education and Experience BSME or BSCE, advanced degree preferred 5+ years of experience in semi-conductor or other technical process industry 5-10 years of experience with liquid and/or gas delivery components and associated technology Previous supervisory experiencePhysical Requirements Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
