    Job Description - Sr. Electrical Project Manager


    Position Summary:
    The Sr.

    Electrical Project Manager is responsible for preparing and completing submittal documents, project management, large material purchases, and the safety of the construction team.

    The PM will work with multiple site Project Managers, Engineers, Customers, and Suppliers to create and submit estimates. The PM may also be assigned projects that an estimator has been awarded.

    In this position, the PM will have to lead and direct the activities of the General Superintendent and field personnel while overseeing all project activity.

    The PM will work with the General Superintendent to adequately staff projects utilizing current staff. They will also work with the Division Manager forrecruiting and hiring efforts, when necessary. The PM will be expected to excel at relationship building with current and prospective clients. It will be the PM's responsibility to ensure all assigned projects are estimated and completed on time. It will be PM's responsibility to complete all work safely, on time, and on budget. The PM will be responsible for understanding the scope of work and project documents completely for each project. The PM will be responsible for ensuring all change orders are priced in a timely manner.

    Must have the ability to manage various types of projects. Be able to coordinate and supervise manpower on multiple projects. Understand how jobs flow from the start to finish. Be able to identify and meet the customers' expectations and requirements. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, as necessary. Able to work under time pressure and adapt to daily changing job requirements with a positive attitude. Have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with technology including software, Microsoft suite, accounting programs, etc. Be a positive leader, self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player. Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors, subs, peers' customers, and others.


    Essential Functions:

    • Lead by example in championing Freedom Industries Mission Statement and Core Values in daily duties.
    • Model, communicate and enforce Safety Management Processes/Policies.
    • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Prepare estimate from blueprints, schematics, or conceptually on multiple projects and provide client finalized cost proposal.
    • Direct, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, schedule, motivate, communicate with, lead, develop and discipline direct reports.
    • Identify and evaluate possible areas for cost savings in both the estimate and project execution phases.
    • Initiate, document, estimate, and manage all change orders in accordance with the Change Order SOP.
    • Confront difficult situations and manage them to a successful conclusion.
    • Thorough knowledge of code compliance and regulations.
    • Ensure proper documentation control is adhered to per 'Job Folders' SOP.
    • Prepare detailed listing of material, equipment, and subcontract items from the estimate, obtain quotes, and purchase.
    • Review quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specs. Responsible for the timely completion of all customerbid related documents.
    • Champion of all organization SOP's. Learn, ask questions, teach others, lead.
    • Responsible for hitting yearly Gross Profit goals and preparing complete and accurate monthly financial projections.
    • Thorough understanding and implementation of company established Phase Codes in budgeting and project execution.
    • Admin Duties (Approve AP & AR Invoices, Close/Adjust PO's, etc.)
    • Adherence to Freedoms/Clients QAQC Manual
    • Will be required to prepare, schedule, and present a Project Execution Plan (PEP) to upper management. The PEP will be required on projects larger than 250K.
    • Manage all closeout procedures including documentation, filing, record drawings, construction cost database input, follow-up marketing, and team debriefing.
    • Manage financial aspects of all contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interests.
    • Other duties as assigned by Division Manager.

    Experience/Education/Other Requirements:

    • Must have at least 6-7 years of experience in industrial electrical project management.
    • Must have 3-4 years of experience managing large industrial electrical projects with a contract value of $5-million+.
    • Must have at least 3-4 years of experience leading an industrial electrical crew of 50+.
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Unlimited License in NC preferred
    • Must have a clear background that will allow you to make job site visits.
    • Must be able to walk job sites and climb stairs during these visits.
    • Must have and keep a valid and in good standing NC driver's license.

    Experience:

    • Industrial Electrical PM: 6 years (Required)
    • Managing Industrial electrical projects: 3 years (Required)
    • Leading industrial electrical crews of 50+ personnel: 3 years (Required)

    Language:

    • English (Required)

    License/Certification:

    • Unlimited NC Electrical License (Preferred)
    • Driver's license (Required)

    Willingness to travel:

    • 25% (Required)
