- Develops and administers middle school STEM curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Employs accepted instructional methodology in teaching the touch method of keyboarding to students and helps to develop and refine that skill.
- Develops lessons that meet state standards for the courses assigned using teaching strategies that have students engaged and actively using their school system-issued Chromebooks.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Provides instruction on the use and development of skills in the use of technology (including the use of computer network systems and applications)

- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
- Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
- May be issued a county-owned teacher laptop to use in this position
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of business education curriculum and concepts.

- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the 5th and 6th grade STEM teacher should be a dedicated and visionary Grades 5-6 STEM Teacher to lead our middle school students through a rigorous, inquiry-based exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This role is central to our mission of fostering critical thinking and technological literacy during the pivotal transition from elementary to secondary education. The Response to Intervention Lead is responsible for ensuring that the Intervention program of the school runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include but are not limited to management of interventionists and their schedule, conducting random fidelity checks with intervention groups to ensure that intervention and progress monitoring are taking place, conducting and managing data team meetings every 4-1/2 weeks, analyzing progress monitoring data before and during data meetings and facilitating decisions regarding appropriate interventions for students, maintaining ongoing and up to date documentation of progress monitoring data and data team meetings, working with school and district level administrators to ensure high quality intervention is happening and address any challenges that may arise and to develop students' technology skills.
