    PRN Admissions/Intake Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity

    Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is a 120 bed capacity behavioral health facility that provides psychiatric services. We specialize in treatment for adults, children and adolescents. Brentwood Behavioral offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services.

    Located in Flowood, MS, in Rankin County with close proximity to Hinds and Madison Counties, our outpatient services are within driving distance to many surrounding areas.

    Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic Admissions/Intake Registered Nurse for weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidays as needed.


    The Admissions/Intake RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessments to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients.

    The Intake RN is in contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, as well as intake and unit staff.

    The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

    Qualifications

    Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements

    Education:
    Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.

    Experience: 2-3 years in psychiatric treatment programs and/or substance abuse, including experience in intake/admissions and managed care preferred.

    Licensure:
    Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.

    Additional Requirements:
    CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training prior to orientation or during orientation week.
