    The Role

    The Senior Product Developer – Emerging Brands is an organized, motivated, solutions-oriented problem solver with footwear development experience in athletic and/or outdoor product.

    The Senior Product Developer will be a key member of the product creation team providing insights, suggestions, and sharing information to deliver quality products on time at the right cost for the intended performance use.

    A strong candidate for this position will approach the work collaboratively and with a curiosity as to how we can make good products and processes better, bring a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations to the team, and is able to prescribe testing from product briefs with designs.

    This person may have supervisory or management experience but would be motivated in mentoring as well helping others learn.

    Your Impact
    The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

    • Guiding assigned products through the product creation process focused on delivering quality products with a timely approval of fit, testing, and manufacturing confirmation samples.
    • Reviewing briefs, design tech packages, 3D models, and samples to identify potential construction, material, fit /wear, or costing concerns.
    • Facilitating a timely review, delivery, and approval of all relevant technical information (lasts, blueprint files, 3D models, shell patterns, BOM's, cost sheets, etc.)
    • Managing relationships and communicating clearly to relevant stakeholders (including overseas partners) in an effort of aligning the team throughout the product creation process.
    • Mentoring and/or supervising less experienced team members to ensure as a team we are meeting or exceeding expectations of quality, costing, timeliness with good service.

    You can align cross functional partners with clear communication using your technical understanding to influence product direction while supporting teammates.

    We'd love to hear from people with
    Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
    6-8 years' experience in the footwear industry
    Experience supervising, managing, or mentoring less experienced team members.
    Experience building product specifications while meeting seasonal calendar timelines.
    Contemporary knowledge of product construction, materials, design applications, molding, and compounds.
    Experience reviewing costing and testing information to identify potential solutions/improvements.
    Experience traveling to and/or working with overseas factory development centers.

    $130,000-$140,000

    The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location.

    Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
