Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a classroom setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to create a positive learning environment
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Utilize behavioral health techniques to support students with challenging behaviors
- Incorporate physical education and movement activities into the curriculum
- Provide care and support for toddlers with special needs
- Integrate learning technology into classroom instruction
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
Skills:
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavioral health techniques and strategies
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
