    Description

    Title: PE Associate

    Location: Charlotte, NC

    Start Date: Summer 2025

    Company Description: Our client is a middle market PE firm based in Charlotte, NC that manages approximately $2 billion AUM across multiple funds. The firm primarily pursues control investments in growth-oriented businesses where there are multiple levers to accelerate growth across strategy, people, technology, and integration. Generalist in nature, they apply a sourcing methodology to construct a research-based thesis on niche market segments with durable growth trends.

    To support continued growth, the team is looking to add an Associate to the deal team. The role will be generalist in nature, with exposure to multiple team members and industry sectors. The Associate role includes deal screening, deal execution, portfolio company support, and investment thesis development.

    This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team with a track record of high performing funds. Associates are given leadership roles in deal execution and the opportunity to work directly with senior level decision makers.

    Position Description: This role will have exposure to a wide range of activities including investment ideation, deal execution, portfolio company analysis and reporting, strategy ideation, etc.

    The job responsibilities are outlined below:

    • Support partners in the deal and portfolio company life cycle
    • Analyze numerous transactions and make investment recommendations
    • Actively conduct due diligence and acquisition analysis and modeling
    • Prepare presentations for management presentations, the firm's Investment Committee, and portfolio company meetings
    • Work directly with portfolio company CEOs and management teams on various strategic initiatives

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • 2-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking (M&A or Lev Fin experienced preferred) or private equity
    • Self-starter. Address situations proactively, as demonstrated through strong work in past professional experiences / school
    • Identify and solve problems through insightful critical thinking
    • Execute on multiple projects across the firm with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the firm's strategy
    • Communicate effectively with portfolio company management teams and investment professionals on a regular basis
    • Independently create LBO models and demonstrate extensive financial modeling skills and experience in Excel
    • Convey investment theses in a clear, concise manner
