    • 36 hours/week; benefitted
    • 12-hour shift 7p- 7:30a

    Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems.

Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.

    The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a 28 bed unit with nursing care provided to critically ill or injured children. A multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive care to address the patient's needs. Patients range in age from neonate to young adult. Patients are admitted to the PICU for a broad range of diagnoses and are admitted for many areas, including referring institutions.

    Position Summary:

    The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs direct patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange relevant information. Communication with external contacts involves providing or giving factual information

    Education/Experince:

    • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement
    • Patient care experience in a pediatric health care setting preferred

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or other healthcare related certification OR
    • One year of experience in a clinical setting, providing patient care OR
    • An external candidate enrolled in an approved BSN program OR
    • Current JHACH employee enrolled in either an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Practice.
    • Current AHA BLS Certification
