    Description

    SUMMARY:

    The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing resident care and support in all activities of daily living and ensures the health, welfare and safety of all residents.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    - Assist with serving meals and feeding; provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.

    - Help with personal hygiene tasks like bedpans, baths, shampoos, and shaves; assist with bathroom trips; support showers and baths.

    - Aid in ambulating, turning, and positioning residents.
    - Monitor vital signs and weight; keep track of intake and output information.

    - Ensure resident comfort by responding to call lights and requests; report observations to the nursing supervisor.

    - Record actions by completing necessary forms and logs.
    - Respect privacy and dignity by maintaining patient information confidentiality; follow HIPAA guidelines.

    - Follow professional standards, company policies, federal, state, and local requirements.

    - Stay updated on job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional organizations.
    - Perform additional assigned duties.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    To succeed in this role, you need to:

    - Hold a current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant as per state laws.
    - Be at least 18 years old.
    - Preferably have experience in long term care.
    - Possess current CPR certification.
    - Have proficiency in English language skills.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands necessary to carry out this job effectively.
    Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.


    - Regularly sit, stand, bend, and walk; able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    - Adequate visual and auditory abilities for communication.
    - Moderate noise level in the working environment.
