Accounting Specialist - San Diego, CA

Under limited supervision this position is responsible for performing a variety of complex accounting support tasks in an accounting department verifies accuracy of accounting documents or records updates and maintains accounting journals ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions Assists with the reporting and analyzing of accounting and financial data for project managers division directors and senior management reconciles records with employees and management external vendors or customers May reconcile bank and financial statements reports Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies investigates questionable data Interacts frequently with outside representatives andor senior level internal contacts Responsibilities
- Performs complex accounting support tasks in an accounting department
- Prepares analysis of complex general ledger accounts
- Prepares journal vouchers allocating cost to appropriate projectsaccounts
- Participates in the research and analysis of accounting and financial data
- Performs analysis budgetingand reporting for assigned projectsandor programs
- Maintains compliance with departmental company policies procedures Ensures compliance maintains files enters datato computer systems defined computer programs procedures which may may be well established Compiles prepares reportsmay present dataprofessional staff Makes recommendations improve current processing methods techniques Reviews reconciliestimates correct erroneous charges tracking discrepancies source Responds written verbal inquiries internal external contacts May aspects bookkeeping functions Responsible observing laws regulations applicable obligations conducted behalf Company Expected work safe manner accordance operating practicesprocedures Additional Functions duties assigned requiredSkills Qualifications
