    Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing team in Newport, RI working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center that is designing, constructing, and delivering the next generation of undersea warfare Training Systems to the Fleet.

    Your focus will be on designing, implementing, testing, and delivering components of the Training Systems.

    Basic Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience or a Masters degree or High School Diploma / Equivalent with 6 years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Two years relevant software experience.
    Familiar with object-oriented programming principles and languages.
    Ability to perform basic tasks in a RHEL/CentOS Linux environment.
    Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Proficiency working in RHEL/CentOS Linux environment.
    Working knowledge in software architecture and design of object-oriented applications, unit testing, debugging, and installation.
    Knowledge of Virtualization solutions such as.

    VMWare
    Red Hat KVM

    Working knowledge of C/C++.
    Working Knowledge of Qt.
    Working knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
    Experience using version control software (e.g. Git, Bitbucket).
    Familiarity with Agile programming principles and Kanban framework.

    Salary Range:
    $88,300 - $124,900


    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
