    Shift Details: Full Time, 8 Hour Shift, 8 AM – 4:30 pm

    Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance.

    Summary

    • The Assistant Health Services Administrator CHS assist the Heath Services Administrator by performing assigned correctional health administrative duties that include budgetary, accounting, purchasing, inventory, clinic flow, or other related services.
    • The AHSA directs and participates in a variety of administrative and corrective health management functions involving the making of administrative decisions.
    • In the absence of the Facility HSA, this position would be responsible for the facility health administration.
    • This position will have significant role in personnel administration and employee relations.
    • Position requires exercise of independent judgment.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists the Health Services Administrator by performing assigned correctional health administrative duties that may include budgetary, purchasing, payroll, inventory or related services.
    • Directs and participates in a variety of administrative and correctional health management functions involving the making of administrative decisions.
    • Ensures patients are brought to clinic prior to 0800 for appointments.
    • Ensure patient movement is not compromised due to lack of staff, movements, etc.
    • Ensures to facilitate coordination with custody leadership.
    • Environment of Care: Ensures safety in the clinics and coordinates with infections control to maintain the flow, safety, and condition of facility clinics.
    • Supply Management: Ensure PAR levels and controls are developed and maintained for each sites specific needs.
    • Equipment Management: Ensure all technology/medical devices are operational and replacements are available upon needs.
    • Ensuring all equipment is up to date and certified.
    • Replace equipment as needed.
    • Consults with Nursing, Physician, and Custody supervisors on administrative problems and procedures and assist in developing and implementing improvements.
    • Patient Access: Ensures supervision and oversight of the patient scheduling process, including ensuring all queues.
    • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
    • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

    Experience

    Generally, requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is preferred.

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
