- Welding Operations: Perform MIG welding, on a range of steel material thicknesses.
- Setup and Maintenance: Set up welding equipment, select appropriate tools, and ensure they are in good working condition. Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to keep it operational.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in the welding process.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to produce accurate welds and assemblies.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Productivity: Meet or exceed production targets and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Material Handling: Safely handle and move materials and products, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including production logs and quality control documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including welders, fabricators, and supervisors, to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives and suggest improvements to welding procedures and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational welding certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with welding equipment and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials, and to work in various environmental conditions.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability, and desire to learn and improve.
- This is a full-time position, and the work may involve overtime, depending on production schedules.
